Ok so this is what I’m thinking.
Yes.
Dean DID see something very bad happen to Cas.
However, the fact that he did not see him die isnt a bad thing.
I think, that after Dean left or looked away or whatever we did
Cas overcame whatever/ whoever he was facing.
And I think this is going to bring back more of the old Cas instead of the broken one.
